Harry Kane is England’s all-time top scorer with 91 goals and has scored more than 500 career goals. He scored twice in Bayern München’s 3-3 draw at Viking on 13 October 2026, extending his Champions League scoring streak to nine games.
Harry Edward Kane was born on 28 July 1993 at Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone, London, the second son of Kim and Patrick Kane, and has one older brother, Charlie. His father was born in Galway. The family lived in Walthamstow before moving to Chingford, and he attended Chingford Foundation School, which David Beckham also attended. He joined the local club Ridgeway Rovers at six, grew up 15 minutes from Tottenham’s ground, and named former Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham as his childhood idol.
He began his senior career at Tottenham Hotspur in 2009 and was loaned to Leyton Orient, Millwall, Leicester City and Norwich City. His role grew after Mauricio Pochettino became head coach in 2014, and he was named PFA Young Player of the Year in 2014-15. He was the league’s top scorer in 2015-16 and 2016-17, helped Spurs finish as Premier League runners-up in 2016-17 and as Champions League runners-up in 2018-19, and ended 2020-21 as top scorer (23) and top assist provider (14). He is Tottenham’s all-time top scorer with 280 goals and the Premier League’s second-highest scorer with 213.
In 2023, after 14 years at Tottenham, he joined Bayern Munich in a €110 million deal, the most expensive signing in Bundesliga history. In his first season he scored 36 league goals and won the European Golden Shoe, and the following year he won the Bundesliga title, his first major trophy, and was named Bundesliga Player of the Season. In 2025-26 he helped Bayern win the domestic double, scoring a hat-trick in the 2026 DFB-Pokal final, and scored over 70 goals for club and country, the second-highest single-season tally this century.
The milestones have kept coming. On 14 February 2026 he scored twice at Werder Bremen to reach his 500th career goal in 743 appearances, and on 18 September 2026 he scored twice in Bayern’s 7-0 win over Union Berlin, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 Bundesliga goals, in 98 games, 31 fewer than the previous record held by Dieter Müller. He is also the highest-scoring English player in the Champions League, with 54 goals.
For England he made his debut in March 2015, scoring, and later became captain and the joint most-capped player. England reached the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, finished as runners-up at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024, and took third place at the 2026 World Cup, their highest finish since 1966. He won the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot, shared the Euro 2024 Golden Boot and became England’s all-time leading World Cup scorer with 14 goals.
This season he has carried his form into Europe. Kane scored twice and set up Luis Díaz for a 3-2 lead against Viking, before Michael Olise’s red card and a late equaliser denied Bayern the win. UEFA named him player of the match, and said the goals extended his Champions League scoring run to nine games.
