India finished top of the boxing medal table at the Asian Games in Japan with three gold medals on the final day, including a dominant win for Lovlina Borgohain. Eleven champions were crowned in all.


India have finished on top of the boxing medal table at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, winning three of the eleven titles decided on the final day of competition on Friday, October 2, World Boxing reported.

India ended with three gold and three bronze medals. Uzbekistan were second with two golds, one silver and four bronzes, and Kazakhstan third with two golds and three bronzes.

India’s Three Champions

Lovlina Borgohain won the women’s 75kg title with what World Boxing called a commanding performance against China’s Bao Ziyi, taking a 5:0 unanimous decision.

Parveen won a much closer contest in the women’s 65kg final, beating Chen Nien-chin of Chinese Taipei on a 3:2 split decision.

In the men’s 80kg division, Ankush defeated South Korea’s Kim Minseong 4:0. He had beaten Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Erkinboev in the semi-finals.

The Other Winners

The remaining golds were spread widely. Besides the two each for Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, China, Chinese Taipei, Japan and Thailand won one apiece.

  • Women’s 51kg: Wu Yu (China) beat Nguyen Thi Tam (Vietnam), 5:0
  • Women’s 54kg: Natnicha Chongprongklang (Thailand) beat Pang Chol Mi (DPR Korea), 4:1
  • Women’s 60kg: Lin Yu-ting (Chinese Taipei) beat Yang Chengyu (China), 5:0
  • Men’s 55kg: Rui Yamaguchi (Japan) beat Carlo Paalam (Philippines)
  • Men’s 60kg: Abdumalik Khalokov (Uzbekistan) beat Jang Donghwan (South Korea), 5:0
  • Men’s 70kg: Torekhan Sabyrkhan (Kazakhstan) beat Zeyad Eashash (Jordan), 5:0
  • Men’s 90kg: Turabek Khabibullaev (Uzbekistan) beat Han Xuezhen (China), 5:0
  • Men’s +90kg: Aibek Oralbay (Kazakhstan) beat Jakhongir Zokirov (Uzbekistan), 5:0

A Home Winner

Yamaguchi’s victory over Paalam in the men’s 55kg final gave the host nation a boxing champion in front of a home crowd.

Khalokov, the Olympic champion, added the Asian Games title to his record with a unanimous win.

Where It Fits

The finals were held at Nishio Gymnasium and covered all 11 weight categories.

The three boxing golds were a significant share of India’s overall haul. India finished fourth on the final Asian Games medal table with 21 gold medals and 85 in total, according to the official results.
