West Indies beat India by 24 runs in Hyderabad on Wednesday to level the five-match T20I series at 2-2, so the series will be decided in Bengaluru on Saturday, 17 October.

West Indies beat India by 24 runs in the fourth T20 international in Hyderabad on 14 October 2026, making 247 for 3 in reply to India’s 223, according to ESPN’s results listing for the Indian team. The result levels the five-match series at 2-2 and sends it to a decider at Bengaluru on 17 October.

The series has alternated. India won the first match, at Lucknow on 6 October, by eight wickets after bowling West Indies out for 171. West Indies won the second, at Ranchi on 9 October, by six wickets with nine balls to spare, chasing a total of 249 for 5. India won the third, at Indore on 11 October, by 14 runs, scoring 223 against West Indies’ 209 for 7. The visitors then won the fourth.

Run-scoring has been high. Three of the first four matches saw a team score more than 220, and the Ranchi match saw West Indies chase 250, a sign of how flat the pitches and how short the boundaries have been, though the sources reviewed do not describe the grounds. The totals of 249, 223 and 247 are all taken from the ESPN listing.

The T20I series follows a one-day series that India won 2-1, according to Wikipedia’s page on the tour. Shubman Gill scored 334 runs and was named Player of the Series, according to the search summary of the page. West Indies won the third ODI on 3 October by five wickets, chasing down India’s 351 for 7 with 352 for 5, so the one-day series ended with a 351-run total being beaten, which is the highlight of the tour so far.

The sources reviewed do not give the results of the first two ODIs or the scorers in the T20I matches, so individual performances in the T20I series are not covered here. The ESPN listing gives the scores but not the names of the batters and bowlers.

India’s next assignment follows quickly. After the final T20I, India tour New Zealand for four T20 matches in Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington, beginning on 22 October, according to the ESPN schedule. That tour gives the Bengaluru decider an extra layer of importance for team selection, although the sources reviewed do not name the squad.

India had a strong run before this tour. The ESPN page records that India won the Asian Games men’s cricket gold medal earlier in October by beating Pakistan in the final, as Delima News has reported separately.

The arithmetic of the series is simple. Each side has won two of the four matches, so the winner of the fifth match takes the series 3-2. Together with the 351-run chase in the third ODI and the 250-run chase in Ranchi, the series has shown that large totals are not safe against this West Indies batting line-up.

The fifth match is on Saturday, 17 October, in Bengaluru. Delima News will report the result and the final series scoreline.
