Ben Affleck’s Animals and Josh Hartnett’s Below led Netflix’s weekly global Top 10 for October 5 to 11, 2026, according to Seat42F’s report of Netflix’s rankings. Animals, which Affleck co-wrote, directed and stars in, launched at the top of the English-language film list with 23.8 million views, and Below, a limited series with Hartnett, Mackenzie Davis and Charlie Heaton, topped the English TV list with 17 million views. Tyler Perry’s Doing Life was second among films with 18.2 million views, East of Eden was second among series with 12.6 million, Ice Age was third among films with 11.2 million, and UNABOMBER had 7.3 million. What’s on Netflix’s chart for October 17 shows the same leaders.

The case that Animals and Below are clear winners begins with their margins. Animals’ 23.8 million views is 5.6 million more than the 18.2 million of Doing Life, the second-placed film, and more than twice the 11.2 million of Ice Age. Below’s 17 million views is 4.4 million more than the 12.6 million of East of Eden, the series in second place. Seat42F reported that Below is the most-viewed debut for a Canadian Netflix title, and What’s on Netflix’s October 17 rankings, which score titles by points, give Animals and Below 80 points each, the highest in their categories, so the two titles lead on more than one measure.

The case that the picture is more complicated comes from the other titles. Doing Life’s 18.2 million views is more than Below’s 17 million, so a film that was not number one outdrew the top series, and Netflix counts views as hours watched divided by runtime, which makes films and long series difficult to compare. East of Eden’s views grew by 94 percent in a week, from 6.5 million to 12.6 million, so its audience was growing fast while Below’s was launching. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Season 1 had 4.1 million views and Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story 3 million, much smaller numbers than the leaders, and What’s on Netflix’s points scores, 55 for East of Eden and 45 for Ice Age, show the field falling away after the top two. What’s on Netflix also reported that 44 titles, 20 films and 24 series, were added during the week, including all eight episodes of The Diplomat’s fourth season, a volume of new releases that makes the weekly chart highly competitive.

The rankings matter for the streaming market because Netflix’s Top 10 is the most visible measure of what audiences watch, and the figures arrive weekly. A film directed by and starring Ben Affleck drawing 23.8 million views shows how star-led thrillers perform on the service, while Below’s 17 million views gives a Canadian production a global audience. For viewers worldwide, the lists show a mix of new releases and older titles, such as Ice Age, drawing audiences at the same time.

Animals and Below topped their lists for the week, with Doing Life and East of Eden close behind. Netflix’s next weekly rankings will show whether the new titles hold their audiences. The streamer’s release calendar for the coming days, as listed by What’s on Netflix, includes Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 on October 20 and Lupin Part 4 on October 23.
