Apple announced a $299 smart home display called HomeView, a $149 HomePod mini 2 and a new Apple TV 4K at its ‘Welcome Home’ event on 13 October, with HomeView and the Apple TV shipping on 13 November.
Apple announced three new home products at its “Welcome Home” event on Tuesday, 13 October 2026: a smart home hub called HomeView, a second-generation HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K, according to MacRumors. All three can be pre-ordered now, and the event also introduced a wider range of smart home accessories.
HomeView costs $299 and has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, according to MacRumors. It runs on an A18 chip with support for Siri AI and is designed as a central hub for the home, with apps, widgets and personalised content for up to six people, and face recognition. It comes in four colours, with the wall-mounted version limited to two, and it is not available in the European Union. It ships on 13 November.
The HomePod mini 2 costs $149 and goes on sale on 30 October. It has a new S10 chip, which Apple says is faster than the previous generation, a “Sound Glow” top and the ability to deliver surround sound with four speakers, according to MacRumors. The report adds that support for Siri AI is coming later, so it will not be available at launch.
The new Apple TV 4K costs $299 for the 128 GB model and has an A19 chip, Wi-Fi 7, far-field microphones for hands-free Siri and more storage, according to the same report. It ships on 13 November, and Siri AI support will also arrive for new and older models. Tom’s Guide and Engadget used similar names for the products in their recaps.
Apple also launched a home collection that includes cameras, locks and thermostats, and search summaries say that it was developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric and includes temperature sensors and a video doorbell. The security company ADT announced in-home installation services for HomeView and the related products, according to MacRumors.
The launch follows rumours that were reported before the event. A search summary says that the company announced the event on 8 October and that reports expected a smart home hub and updated HomePod mini and Apple TV models. The hub is described by several outlets as the product that fills a gap in Apple’s range, which has had speakers and a media box but no dedicated display for the home.
The mention of Siri AI in all three products ties the launch to Apple’s plans for its assistant. The sources reviewed do not describe what Siri AI can do, or when it will reach the HomePod mini 2, so the detail of that feature cannot be given.
The prices put HomeView on a par with the new Apple TV and below the price of most tablets. For buyers, the key dates are 30 October for the HomePod mini 2 and 13 November for the HomeView and the Apple TV.
The launch shows Apple extending its software and services into the home, and its success will depend on whether the new display and the new assistant are as useful as the company says.
