Barbara Kingsolver’s Partita was published on 6 October and Bonnie Garmus’s Peck & Peck on 13 October, with books by Yiyun Li and Heather Morris due on 22 October.

Several well-known authors have new books in October 2026, according to release listings from Book Riot, In Good Company and other outlets seen in search results. Delima News could not open the listings, so the dates and titles come from a search summary and should be checked against publishers’ information.

Barbara Kingsolver, who won the Pulitzer Prize for her 2023 novel Demon Copperhead, published Partita on 6 October, according to the summary. The sources reviewed do not describe the book’s subject or give reviews.

Bonnie Garmus, the author of Lessons in Chemistry, returned with Peck & Peck on 13 October, according to the summary. The summary does not give its plot or format.

Two more books are due on 22 October. Music Against the Night is by Yiyun Li, and The Piano Teacher of Montparnasse is by Heather Morris, according to the summary. The sources reviewed do not describe either book.

The dates make a small calendar. Kingsolver’s book came out on a Tuesday, Garmus’s a week later on a Tuesday, and the two others come nine days after that on a Thursday, which Delima News has worked out from the dates of 6, 13 and 22 October. The sources reviewed do not explain the choice of days.

Book Riot’s list is titled 11 of the best books out in October, and In Good Company has published a list of 30 of the most anticipated October 2026 new releases, with Freida McFadden and a sequel to The Time Traveler’s Wife named in the title, according to the search results. The lists themselves were not opened, so the other titles on them are not reported here.

The month also includes the Nobel Prize in Literature, which went to the Canadian poet Anne Carson on 8 October, as Delima News has reported. The prize is for a body of work and not for a single new book, and none of the books above is by Carson. The sources reviewed do not give sales data for any of the titles.

Two of the authors are known for earlier books that the listing names. Kingsolver won the Pulitzer Prize for Demon Copperhead, and Garmus wrote Lessons in Chemistry. The summary uses these titles to identify the authors and does not compare the new books with them.

The four titles named fall on three dates over a period of 16 days, from 6 to 22 October, a count by Delima News. Two of them, those by Li and Morris, share a publication date, which means that readers will see them together in shops and on the lists of new releases on 22 October.

Release lists vary between countries, and the dates above may refer to the United States. The sources reviewed do not say where the listings apply or whether the books are published at the same time elsewhere.

Delima News will report on the bestseller lists once the new releases have appeared on them.
