What the List Shows

Semiconductors lead: TSMC, Samsung, SK Hynix, ASML and CXMT together account for more than $5.3 trillion. China has seven entries, including four state-owned banks, Tencent, Alibaba and CXMT, which listed in Shanghai in July 2026 and became the country’s most valuable listed company on its debut, according to CNBC. The UK has three entries, while Switzerland and South Korea have two each. Saudi Aramco is the only company from the Middle East.

Adding up the 20 figures gives roughly $11.6 trillion, about a third of the $37.9 trillion in the US top 20. Valuations for the Korean chip makers differ widely between sources: StockAnalysis, for example, put SK Hynix at about 1,170 trillion won on October 12, 2026, which is higher than the figure used here.

The gap between first and second place is large: TSMC is about $640 billion ahead of Saudi Aramco and alone makes up about a fifth of the total. The smallest company on the list, SAP, is worth about $251 billion, only slightly more than Mitsubishi UFJ Financial, so the bottom of the ranking can change within days. The list ranks companies by market value, not by sales or profit, and uses the country shown by the data provider.

Market values change every trading day, and data providers use different share counts and timing, so figures differ between sources. This ranking uses a single snapshot from companiesmarketcap.com taken on October 13, 2026.
