Natália Silva won the vacant UFC women’s flyweight championship at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City, beating Wang Cong over five rounds on a card that set a record for knockouts.
Natália Silva defeated Wang Cong by unanimous decision to win the vacant UFC women’s flyweight championship at UFC 332 on Saturday, 3 October 2026, according to Wikipedia’s page on the event. The three judges scored the five-round fight 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46. The event was held at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The title was vacant because the original main event did not take place. Wikipedia says the planned headliner was Silva against the two-time champion Valentina Shevchenko, but Shevchenko withdrew with a ligament injury to her back and shoulder that the page says will sideline her for a year. The title was then vacated and the bout was restructured, with Wang Cong stepping in against Silva for the vacant belt.
The card was unusual in two ways. It was the first time that the main card of a numbered UFC event aired exclusively on CBS, according to the same page. It also set finishing records: eleven knockouts, an all-time UFC record for a single event, nine first-round knockouts and seven consecutive first-round knockouts, which the page describes as modern-era records.
The attendance was 16,492 and the gate was $2,707,768, according to the page. Four fighters each received a $100,000 performance bonus: Roman Kopylov, Imanol Rodríguez, Damian Pinas and Johnny Walker. No Fight of the Night bonus was awarded, which fits a card in which so many fights ended early. The sources reviewed do not list every result on the card, so the full run of knockouts is not given here.
The next event is in Canada. UFC Fight Night: Buckley vs Malott takes place on Saturday, 17 October at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, according to the UFC’s event page. The main event is a five-round welterweight bout between Joaquin Buckley, listed at No. 10 in the division, and Mike Malott, listed at No. 13, who is Canadian and will fight in front of a home crowd.
The co-main event is a women’s flyweight bout between Erin Blanchfield, ranked No. 4, and Jasmine Jasudavicius, ranked No. 6. The UFC page also lists Marc-Andre Barriault against Kyle Daukaus at middleweight, Louis Jourdain against Timmy Cuamba at bantamweight and Kyle Nelson against Cristian Perez at lightweight. The main card starts at 8:00 pm Eastern time and the preliminary card at 5:00 pm.
The Edmonton card is the same division as the new champion’s, and a win for Blanchfield or Jasudavicius would help her case for a shot at Silva, although the sources reviewed do not say who the UFC plans to book against her. A search summary of the schedule lists another event on 31 October, UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs Nolan, at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
The UFC page says that all of the fights in Edmonton are broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, but the page was fetched before the event and broadcast arrangements, particularly for the main card, can change, so readers should check their local listings.
Silva’s win makes her the new champion in a weight class that has been led by Shevchenko for years, according to the page’s description of her as a two-time champion. Delima News will report the result of the Edmonton main event after it takes place.
