Spider-Man: Brand New Day now leads the all-time North American box office chart with $955.2 million, ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Worldwide, it has passed $2.5 billion, though older blockbusters still sold far more tickets.
A record that stood for more than a decade has fallen. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has earned $955,203,202 in North America, according to The Numbers, the most of any film in the box office tracker’s all-time domestic chart.
It passes Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the 2015 release that had held the top spot with $936,662,225. The gap between the two is about $18.5 million.

The Numbers lists its production budget at $225 million. The film was released by Sony Pictures on July 31, 2026, and runs 150 minutes.
A Record With a Caveat
The record is measured in dollars, and ticket prices have risen. By The Numbers’ estimate, Brand New Day has sold about 79.9 million tickets in North America. The Force Awakens sold about 110.3 million, and Avatar about 101.1 million.
In other words, fewer people have seen the new record holder in cinemas than saw the films it has overtaken.
Still Playing
The film is not finished. In its tenth weekend, October 2–4, it took a further $2,501,553 from 1,724 theaters and remained in the top ten.
