Country star Ella Langley called off her concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday night, hours before the doors were due to open. She said there had been a “serious security threat” and that the decision was taken on the advice of local authorities.
The country singer Ella Langley cancelled her show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday, October 9, because of what she called a “serious security threat”, Rolling Stone reported.
She announced the decision on social media hours before doors were due to open at the BOK Center.
Her Statement
“Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of my fans, the venue staff, and my team, the incredibly difficult decision was made to cancel tonight’s show,” Langley wrote.
She said the decision was made on the advice of local authorities, her security team and venue staff.
“I know how much time, travel, money, and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can’t tell you how sorry I am,” she continued.
“I was so looking forward to spending tonight with you, but your safety will always mean more to me than anything else. I refuse to put anyone in harm’s way.”
The Venue
The venue issued a statement in similar terms.
“The safety and well-being of everyone involved is our absolute priority, and after careful consideration, we have determined that the show cannot proceed,” it said.
It said information about ticket refunds would follow.
What Is Not Known
Neither Langley nor the venue has said what the threat was, or whether anyone has been arrested.
The Tour
Langley is near the end of her Dandelion headlining tour, which began in May.
It is due to finish on October 31 at the Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with Kameron Marlowe and Gabriella Rose as guests.
She has had women open every date of the tour: Gabriella Rose, Kaitlin Butts, Avery Anna, Laci Kaye Booth and Madeline Edwards. Booth had been due to open in Tulsa.
