Mirra Andreeva is into the final of the China Open after a straight-sets win over Nikola Bartunkova. It was her 50th match win of the year, level with Jessica Pegula for the most on tour, and it will take her to a career-high ranking of world number three.
Mirra Andreeva has reached the final of the China Open in Beijing, the WTA reported on October 10.
The number four seed beat Nikola Bartunkova, the number 26 seed, in straight sets.

The win will lift Andreeva to number three in the world when the rankings are updated next week. It will be the first time she has been ranked that high.

The semi-final came a day after Andreeva secured her place in the season-ending WTA Finals, the tournament for the year’s best-performing players.

Sunday’s final will be against the winner of the other semi-final:
- Elise Mertens, the number 13 seed, who has beaten Jelena Ostapenko, Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek this week
- Zheng Qinwen, a former world number four, who beat Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals
The Road There
Andreeva and Bartunkova had both reached the semi-finals with straight-sets wins in the previous round, ESPN reported.
